Indian women’s team broke the unbeaten streak of Australia as they ended their 16-match unbeaten streak by defeating them in a super over. It was Australia’s first in T20 this year.
India won the super over Match by 5 runs as both the teams were at 187 after the regular 20 overs. Renuka Singh saved 20 runs in the super as Richa Ghosh and Smriti Mandana scored 20 runs in the super over.
Harmanpreet Kaur used the technique of MS Dhoni
Renuka Singh was bowling in the super over and Gardner got out in the third bowl as she was caught at long off, he played a mistime shot on the slower bowl and Harmanpreet Kaur placed a fielder straight at Long off.
It was a smart move by the captain as Gardner play more shots down the ground and she knew the plan of Renuka Singh. This wicket put pressure on the Australian side and most importantly it was a dot ball in such a crucial stage.
