Before the start of the first ODI BCCI released news that Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has been ruled out from the ODI series due to a medical condition and advice from the medical team. He will make his comeback in the Test series.
BCCI also shared that Axar Patel was not available for the selection in the first ODI as well. That’s why he missed the first ODI and Shahbaz Ahmed is playing today as an all-rounder in the playing 11.

During the toss, Rohit Sharma said that Kuldeep Sen is making his ODI debut today. Earlier we saw that Rohit Sharma presented the debut cap to him while KL Rahul is the wicketkeeper as Pant is ruled out.
