Team India will start its campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022. The match is scheduled to take place on 23rd October at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and fans will be excited for this match.
In the Indo-Pak match, left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Afridi broke the back of India’s top-order by dismissing Rohit Sharma for a golden duck. He was followed by KL Rahul (3) and Virat Kohli (51). Later, the Men in Blue suffered their first defeat against arch rivals in the World Cup, losing the match by 10 wickets.
Former India opener Gautam Gambhir said for the Men in Blue:
Speaking on Star Sports’ show ‘Game Plan’, Gambhir said that the Rohit Sharma-led side should not only survive against Afridi, but they should also look at the way they score runs against him. According to me, Rohit will give a tough fight to Afridi this time.
“When it comes to Shaheen Afridi, don’t look to escape. Look for him to score runs. Because the moment you look at being alive, everything becomes really small. Be it your backlift, whether it is your footwork, and obviously, in T20 cricket you cannot look to survive,” Gambhir said.

“I know he can be dangerous with the new ball, but still, Indian batsmen need to score more runs, get in better position and look at the timing instead of hitting the balls. India will be fine as India have got quality in their top 3 or 4 which can definitely compete with Shaheen Shah Afridi,” he said.
