Team India captain Rohit Sharma couldn’t stop praising Virat Kohli after his unbeaten 82 off 53 balls against Pakistan in their first Super 12 clash of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at the MCG today i.e. 23 October (Sunday).
Kohli came early after KL Rahul’s wicket fell and showed his class as he returned unbeaten on winning matches for India. Before the Asia Cup, Kohli was being criticized for his lack of runs. He could not convert his starts into big scores throughout the IPL and struggled in England as well. Rohit says that his form was not a big concern for him as he was in a good rhythm and the runs were very close.
Regular captain Rohit Sharma has given an emotional statement after winning the match by 4 wickets in the last ball of the last over against Pakistan. He told how he felt after winning the match. Rohit Sharma said:
“I was in the dressing room. I have no words. You have to expect something like this in a game like this. We wanted to stay in the game for as long as possible. That crucial partnership (Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya) was a game-changing moment for us.”
Rohit added:
“Kohli and Pandya are experienced players. It was very important to stay calm and take the game deep. Good for our confidence. Earlier we were not in a position to win the match. The way we won is a matter of great happiness for us. Salute to Virat for the way he batted, this is the best innings he has played for India.
