Troubled by Pakistan’s poor performance in the World Cup 2023, team head coach Grant Bradburn on Monday blamed the ‘unknown’ Indian conditions for this. Pakistan’s team is on the verge of being out of the race for the semi-finals after four consecutive defeats. To maintain the hopes of reaching the last four, the Pakistan team will have to win its remaining three matches by a big margin and hope that the results of other teams also go as per their expectations.

Before Tuesday’s match against Bangladesh, Pakistan chief Ko Bradburn said, ‘We are in a situation where we did not want to be. In this phase of the tournament, we are capable of controlling our destiny, but we are not able to do so. This has disappointed the team. He said, ‘For us, this tournament is in foreign conditions. None of our players have played here before. Every place is new for us, including this one (Kolkata).
Coach’s absurd statement created a stir:
Pakistan’s coach said that his team has completed its preparations properly. Pakistan coach said, ‘We have made our preparations carefully regarding the rival teams and the match venue. We are very well prepared for each match. The reality for us here is that every venue is new to us and we do not feel deprived at all in terms of understanding, quality, skill, and support of the players.
Changed the way he played in ODIs:
Former Scotland coach Bradburn was earlier the fielding coach of Pakistan. In May this year, PCB had given him a two-year contract as the head coach. Pakistan coach said, ‘Ideal preparation for such a competition starts four years in advance. We started this preparation six months ago and changed our way of playing especially in ODIs. We got positive results in the last six months.
Don’t get a chance to play from top countries:
Before the World Cup, the Pakistan team was in the top position in the rankings for some time. The team is currently in third position after India and Australia. The Pakistan coach, however, did not give much importance to the rankings and said, ‘Regarding the ICC rankings, we know that they are complicated because we do not get a chance to play India. We do not get a chance to play many top countries, who have not toured Pakistan in recent times.
