IND vs AUS: The Indian cricket team is clashing against Australia in the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Indian team won the first test of this series by an inning and 132 runs. Now the eyes are on the second Test to be played in Delhi. But before this Test, there is a big tension regarding team selection in front of captain Rohit Sharma.The performance of many players was not very special in the first test. This concern in front of Rohit:
The major concern is the batting lineup, although the bowlers did well and the pacers also picked up a wicket or two. India’s top order failed except for skipper Rohit Sharma. But his partners KL Rahul and Virat Kohli haven’t batted well, which are issues that the Indian team management needs to address.
Rahul fought back scoring 20 runs in almost 71 balls. Rahul, who scored 2624 runs in 46 Tests, last scored a century in South Africa in Centurion in December 2021. Virat’s form a matter of concern:
A major concern for the Indian team management will also be the poor form in Tests of Virat Kohli, whose last Test century came against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in November 2019. Kohli scored 12 in Nagpur, having played 21 Tests without reaching the three-figure mark.
The 34-year-old former India captain has scored three centuries in ODIs recently. One against Bangladesh (113 at Chittagong in December 2022) and two against Sri Lanka (113 not out at Guwahati and 166 not out at Thiruvananthapuram in January 2023). It is not easy to ignore the dearth of runs in the longest format of the game.
