What will happen if India-New Zealand Semi-Final is washed out due to Rain? Which team will Play the Final

The first semi-final match of this edition of the World Cup will be played between India and New Zealand. Everyone is excited about this match to be held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

This match will start on Wednesday afternoon. Both teams are balanced.

Along with the excitement about the match, there are also some questions. One of these questions is also regarding rain. What will be done if the match does not take place after the rain? Has a reserve day been kept for the match? Such questions are in the minds of fans because everyone wants to watch the entire match.

ICC has kept reserve day in the playing conditions of the World Cup. If a match is halved and play is not played due to rain, the match will be restarted on the next day from the same point where it ended due to rain. In such a situation, there should be no need to panic.

Another question is what will be done if the situation remains the same the next day after the rain. If there is no play even after the reserve day, which team will get a chance to go to the finals? The answer is the net run rate and standings. In the ICC World Cup, the team which tops the table during the league stage will go to the finals. In such a situation, this is good news for Indian fans.

Is there a reserve day in the India-New Zealand semi-final:

The answer is yes. If play is not played on the scheduled day due to rain, the (reserve) match will start on the next day. If the game is not played after the toss, the first ball of the match can be bowled the next day but there will be no permission to make changes in the playing eleven of the teams. Teams will have to remain the same as at the time of the toss.

Another important thing is that if 19 overs play is played on the first day due to rain and the game is stopped due to rain, then the match will be of 46 overs. Now after determining these overs, if it rains again, then the next day the match will be considered to be 50 overs only. If necessary, overs can be reduced on the reserve day.

If even a single ball is bowled after the overs are cut and the match does not proceed due to rain, only those scheduled 46 overs will be played the next day. In that situation, full overs will not be played because one ball will have been bowled after the cut. ICC has written this in the World Cup rules.
