Indian pacer Mohammed Shami is not counted among the greats for no reason. He has the ability to single-handedly change the course of the match. Shami showed the stars to New Zealand’s batsmen in the ODI World Cup match on Sunday. Shami took 5 wickets in this match played at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. It would not be wrong to say that Shami wreaked havoc on this team.
Daryl Mitchell scored a century:
Team India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat first. New Zealand’s 2 wickets had fallen to just 19 runs. After this, Rachin Ravindra (75) and Daryl Mitchell (130) batted brilliantly and added 159 runs for the third wicket. It was Shami who broke this partnership. Ravindra was out but Daryl remained frozen. He faced 127 balls and scored a total of 130 runs hitting 9 fours and 5 sixes. He was caught by Virat Kohli on the 5th ball of the last over of Shami’s innings. Ravindra hit 6 fours and a six to score 75 runs in 87 balls. Glenn Phillips scored 23 runs with the help of one six in 26 balls.
Mohammed Shami wreaked havoc:
Shami made a big record with this. He has become the Indian bowler who has taken 5 wickets the most number of times in the World Cup. He did this for the second time. Shami bowled 10 overs in this match and took 5 wickets for 54 runs. Apart from him, Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets. Pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj got a 1-1 wicket.

The batsman bowled on 2 consecutive balls:
Shami created a stir in the 48th over of the innings. He bowled Mitchell Santner (1) on the fourth ball. The people sitting in the stadium watching this jumped with joy. After this, on the very next ball, Shami seemed to show hostility towards Gilli. This time he bowled Matt Henry (0). As soon as the ball hit the ball, it bounced in the air and fell far away. The noise echoed in the stadium. Then Shami took a wicket in the last over also.
