Zimbabwe surprised everyone in T20 history, Broke India’s record

The Zimbabwe cricket team scored the highest score in T20 international history. In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier B, 2024, Zimbabwe scored 344 runs in 20 overs against Gambia. In this match held at Ruaraka Sports Club Ground in Nairobi, captain Sikandar Raza’s bat also worked well and he scored a century in just 33 balls.

Winning the toss and batting first, Zimbabwe started batting from the very first ball. Every bowler was beaten. Captain Sikandar Raza returned unbeaten after scoring 133 runs in 43 balls. Opener Brian Bennett and wicketkeeper Marumani scored 98 runs in just 5.4 overs.

Both the openers were dismissed after completing half-centuries. Captain Sikandar Raza, who came at number four, made a tremendous partnership with Clive Madande for the fifth wicket. But Madande did not remain out after scoring 53 runs from 17 balls.

Sikandar Raza’s explosive innings were full of aggressive strokes. This historic innings not only led Zimbabwe to a record-breaking score but also established Raza as the team’s leading batsman in T20 internationals. He now has the joint second-fastest century in T20 Internationals
