IPL History: In every season of IPL, a player is awarded the Man of the Tournament award. The award was known as the ‘Man of the Tournament’ in the initial season of the Indian Premier League. Since IPL 2013, the award has been titled ‘Most Valuable Player. However, the award for the Most Valuable Player is equivalent to the Man of the Tournament or Player of the Tournament.
