The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday announced the squad for the two-match T20I series between India and Ireland. The captaincy of this team was given to the captain Hardik Pandya, who won the IPL this year, as well as many young players got a chance and big names also came back.
The same name that some fans were hoping for, its name did not figure in this list. That name is Rahul Tewatia, the best performer of Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022. Rahul Tewatia surprised everyone with his performance this year and led the team to victory in many matches on his own.
Rahul Tewatia scored 217 runs in 16 matches in IPL for Gujarat Titans at a strike rate of around 147. He led the team to victory while avoiding defeat in many matches. But even after this performance, he was saddened by the fact that he did not get a chance in the Indian team and expressed his pain by tweeting from his official Twitter account.
Rahul Tewatia wrote in his tweet that “Expectations Hurts” i.e. his hopes have been hurt. Tewatia can bowl as well as bat but he plays the role of a finisher. There are many options available in the Indian team as a finisher at present, so it is finding it difficult to get a chance for them.
