3 major reasons why Rohit Sharma should give up the captaincy of the Indian team

Rohit Sharma

After a humiliating performance in the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup 2022, all the fans are very upset about the team India and because of that, we can see many major changes in the upcoming time.

There are many questions about the performance and captaincy of Rohit Sharma, especially in the T20 format and he soon might give up his T20 captaincy to focus on the longer formats.

Here are the three reasons why he should leave the captaincy

1. Very bad performance with the bat:

He is going through a very rough patch with the bat as he has just scored one half-century in his last 12 innings whereas he was not able to perform in the T20 World Cup as well as he just managed to score 116 runs in his 6 innings.

He is also not able to play the big shots and that intent from him is missing and that’s why when he plays it feels like he is struggling and not giving his 100 percent.

2. Questions about his fitness

With his performance there is a question over his fitness as well because he is now 35 years old and also the captain of all the threformatsat for him, it is very tough to manage the workload and that is why he does this.

Because in recent times we have seen this that he needs to take a break after 2-3 series and then a new captain needs to come in for that series. With this, he is also the captain of Mumbai Indians and needs to play the whole 2 months of IPL as well.

3. Should give up the captaincy before BCCI remove him

There are talks of removing him as the captain of the T20 cricket and BCCI is thinking to make Hardik Pandya their new T20 captain and that’s why Rohit himself should decide between leaving the captaincy.

As we know that BCCI has done this before and we can see the same thing with Rohit Sharma which we saw with Virat Kohli one year ago BCCI had done this to Sachin Tendulkar as well.
