Richa Ghosh and Smriti Mandana won the match in the super over, ending Australia’s 16-match unbeaten streak

Indian women’s team scripted history after beating Australia in the second T20 after winning the match in the super over. It was a thrilling match which went down to the wire and we witnessed one of the most epic games in recent times.

Australia posted 187/1 in their 20 overs while batting first as Beth Mooney and Tahilla Mcgrath were the stars for the Australian side. Mooney scored 82 runs in 52 balls while Mcgrath scored 70 runs in 51 balls.

Smriti Mandana played a match-winning knock while chasing

As we all know Mandana loves to chase the target and she showed this in yesterday’s match as well. She single-handedly controlled the Indian inning and played a knock of 79 runs in just 49 balls in which he smashed 9 fours and 4 sixes.

Richa Ghosh and Devika Vaidya finished the match

Smriti Mandana played a brilliant inning but got out at a very crucial stage. After her wicket, Richa Ghosh and Devika Vaidya scored at a great pace where they scored 26(13) and 11(5) respectively. Richa scored a boundary on the last ball which ended the match in a tie.

The Indian team was playing their first super over in their T20 cricket history and they scored 20 runs in this over. Richa Ghosh hit a six in the first ball and when she got out Mandana scored 13 runs in the next 3 balls.

Renuka Singh bowled the super over from the Indian side and she was able to stop the Australian team at 15 runs, India won the match by 5 runs which gave Australia their first defeat in the T20 format this year and ended their 16-match unbeaten streak.
