Martin Guptill was the man who perfectly aimed the wicked and run out Dhoni with a direct hit and that was an amazing throw. However, He had given his statement on this now in the latest show.
He said in the prime video that “Colin de Grandhomme was also there, but it had to be a direct hit and I think he [Dhoni] was a little away, he would have been safe if not, so it had to be a direct hit. It was a great match.”

After him, Tim Southee also gave his reaction and he said “‘In that fashion, for Guptill to hit the stumps from such a distance was very special. Anyone who has played against MS [Dhoni] knows that anything is possible as long as he is there. While he was there, India had a chance, so it was a big moment in the game and probably the last wicket to be out, and to get it like that was very special.”
