India in recent times has not been able to win any ICC trophies as we have seen heartbreak over the last few years ago and every fan needed to face the heartbreak after a tournament.
However, MS Dhoni has been the most successful captain of the Indian side as he won 3 ICC trophies but in the end, in his last ICC tournament, he also faced heartbreak as the team got knocked out in the semifinals.
No one can forget the semifinal between India and the semifinal in which MS Dhoni got run out when 25 runs were required in 10 balls and that was the last time we saw Dhoni in the blue jersey.
Martin Guptill shares his statement on that runout.
Martin Guptill was the man who perfectly aimed the wicked and run out Dhoni with a direct hit and that was an amazing throw. However, He had given his statement on this now in the latest show.
He said in the prime video that “Colin de Grandhomme was also there, but it had to be a direct hit and I think he [Dhoni] was a little away, he would have been safe if not, so it had to be a direct hit. It was a great match.”
After him, Tim Southee also gave his reaction and he said “‘In that fashion, for Guptill to hit the stumps from such a distance was very special. Anyone who has played against MS [Dhoni] knows that anything is possible as long as he is there. While he was there, India had a chance, so it was a big moment in the game and probably the last wicket to be out, and to get it like that was very special.”
