The first match of the 3 ODI series between India and Australia was played in Mohali. Australia batted first and scored 276 runs in 50 overs. While chasing this target, India won the match with 5 wickets and 8 balls remaining.
After this victory, India took a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. However, after the defeat in this match, Australia captain Pat Cummins had a big reaction by expressing his displeasure.
Pat Cummins broke his silence after the defeat:
Australia would like to take this series in preparation for the World Cup. But after the defeat in the first match, captain Pat Cummins looked quite disappointed. David Warner and Steve Smith played good innings in this match.
For which the captain praised him and said, “I am happy on my return. Some players played well today. Although we could not perform well. It was good to see the batting of Warner and Smith today. We will get good momentum from this series and then go into the World Cup. We are trying to give our 100 percent.”
Australian batsmen disappointed:
Australia played one extra batsman in the ODI series against India. Therefore, captain Pat Cummins himself came to bat at the 9th position. Cummins became Shami’s victim after scoring 21 runs in 9 balls.
Kangaroo batsmen looked helpless in front of Mohammed Shami’s bowling. Apart from David Warner, no batsman could complete his half-century. However, wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis played an inning of 45 runs and Steve Smith played an inning of 41 runs.
