The first match of the 3 ODI series between India and Australia was played in Mohali. Australia batted first and scored 276 runs in 50 overs. While chasing this target, India won the match with 5 wickets and 8 balls remaining.

After this victory, India took a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. However, after the defeat in this match, Australia captain Pat Cummins had a big reaction by expressing his displeasure.
