World Cup 2023 is over. And with this India’s dream of winning the ICC title also ended. The final match of the World Cup 2023 was played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Australia captured the title by defeating Team India by 6 wickets in the final match.
Team India captain Rohit Sharma appeared very emotional after the defeat. There were tears in his eyes also. Despite playing so well throughout the World Cup, Team India could not perform well in the final match. Let us know what captain Rohit Sharma said after the defeat.
We were not good today – Rohit Sharma:
Team India did not perform well with the bat in the World Cup 2023 match played in Ahmedabad. That was the main reason for Team India’s defeat. Captain Rohit Sharma while talking about this in the post-match presentation said, “The result was not in our favour. We weren’t that good today. We tried everything but it was not to be. 20-30 more runs would have been better, KL and Kohli were making a good partnership and we were looking at a score of 270-280 but we kept losing wickets. When you have 240 runs on the board, you want to take wickets, but credit to Head and Labuschagne, who put together a big partnership and took us out of the game completely.”
We tried our best but – Rohit Sharma:
Team India captain Rohit Sharma said about the entire match and what changes happened during the first and second batting, “We tried everything possible but I think the wicket should be a little better for batting in the light. Has gone. Don’t want to use this as an excuse. We knew it would be a little better to bat under floodlights, but we don’t want to use that as an excuse.”
Team India captain Rohit Sharma attributed the defeat to poor batting, saying, “We did not put enough runs on the board. With the fast bowlers, we took those 3 wickets and with one more wicket, we could have started the game. Credit goes to those two guys in the middle for building an excellent partnership.”
