In a newspaper report, quoting the official present in the meeting, Rohit Sharma told the board members, ‘If you want to select me for the T20 World Cup, then tell me about it right now.’ According to the report, all the officials, selectors, and coach Rahul Dravid present in the meeting seemed unanimously willing to hand over the command of the T20 World Cup to Rohit Sharma. Even the selectors wanted Rohit to take over the reins of Team India from the T20 series against South Africa, but Rohit asked for a break for a few days.
This review meeting of BCCI was organized in New Delhi. However, Rohit Sharma was involved in this meeting through video conference. The Indian captain is enjoying holidays in London these days. He left for London only after the World Cup.
