It was a humiliating defeat for India in the first ODI against Bangladesh as they lost the match by just 1 wicket at the end where once it was looking like India will win the match easily but Bangladesh took the match away.
Mehdy Hassan and Mustafizur Rahman were the star for Bangladesh as they made 51 run partnership which is the highest partnership for Bangladesh for the last wicket and they made Bangladesh win this one.
The Indian team was sloppy in the field as well
Captain Rohit Sharma was furious with the fielder as they dropped a few easy catches and didn’t even show intent which cost the match at the end. KL Rahul dropped the catch of Mehdy when he was at 15 runs.
Rohit Sharma stated the reason for the loss in the post-match presentation
Rohit Sharma in the post-match presentation said “It was a very close match. We tried very well to make a comeback. We were disappointed in the batting. A score of 184 can never be called good but we bowled well at times. The bowlers tried to win the match till the end. As you see earlier, we also wanted to bowl first. We scored 25-30 runs short. We lost our wickets early in planning to score 240-250.”
He further said that “We bowled brilliantly for 40 overs. We still have a lot to learn. There is no explanation for this defeat, but we know where to improve. We don’t know how much we can improve in the coming practice season. I am sure that these players will learn the basics and will try their best to win the upcoming match.
