India took a 1-0 lead in the series after registering an eight-wicket win in the first match of the three-match T20I series against South Africa. The African team’s batting collapsed completely, while among the constantly falling wickets, it was only Aiden Markram who took over the South African innings for a while. Rohit Sharma took a strange DRS before he was dismissed for an even lower score before being dismissed for 25 off 25 balls.

Arshdeep Singh was blazing fire with the ball and was bowling his third consecutive over after taking the first three wickets. On the third ball of the over, Markram got hit by Arshdeep’s delivery. The ball came very close to the bat, both wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and the bowler expressed such sentiments that Markram’s bat has hit the outer edge. However, skipper Rohit Sharma paused for a bit before taking the DRS.

SKY and Virat force Rohit for Review

Ravi Shastri, who was in the commentary box at the time, revealed that the fielders on the cover and extra cover were Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav who asked Rohit to go for it. It was not clear whether Rohit even saw the reaction of the bowler and the wicketkeeper. Rohit Sharma took the review regardless of the wicketkeeper and bowler.

Replays showed that there was a gap between the bat and the ball. During this, Rohit Sharma was seen standing beside Pant with a tired smile. Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma’s reaction was worth watching as soon as the batsman was given not out on the big screen.
