India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series by defeating West Indies by 2 wickets in the second ODI at the Queen’s Park Oval on Sunday (24 July). In this match, the hero of India’s thrilling victory was Axar Patel, who showed amazing in both batting and bowling.
Axar Patel first took a wicket in the bowling and then played a stormy innings of 64 not out in 35 balls with the help of three fours and five sixes. India needed 6 runs from the last three balls to win and Patel ended the game with a six.
Batting first after winning the toss, West Indies scored 311 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs due to the innings of Shai Hope (115) and Nicholas Pooran (74). In reply, India won by losing 8 wickets with two balls to spare. Apart from Patel, Shreyas Iyer (63) and Sanju Samson (54) also scored half-centuries for India.
