Axar Patel first took a wicket in the bowling and then played a stormy innings of 64 not out in 35 balls with the help of three fours and five sixes. India needed 6 runs from the last three balls to win and Patel ended the game with a six.

Batting first after winning the toss, West Indies scored 311 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs due to the innings of Shai Hope (115) and Nicholas Pooran (74).
