Dinesh Karthik aka DK is wreaking havoc with the bat. Continuing the form of IPL 2022, DK played a brilliant innings against South Africa in the fourth T20 match of the series in Rajkot on Friday. Dinesh Karthik scored his first half-century in T20 International cricket and laid the foundation for Team India’s victory.
During the innings break, Karthik was answering questions when suddenly he shuddered and stopped for a moment and looked at the sky. Before doing this, Karthik also had a surprised look on his face. It was a reflection of sorts. A few moments later he resumed the interview and said, ‘Sorry, I thought the ball was coming this way.’
Dinesh Karthik further said, ‘I am very happy with what we did today. I was confident that we can score 80-85 runs in the last 7 overs. I was wondering how it can be done. You have to capitalize on some overs, take some risks. Risk is something you need to imbibe in T20 cricket, so I was looking at my options.
Let us tell you that Dinesh Karthik played an innings of 55 runs in 27 balls. He was adjudged man of the match for this stellar performance. Apart from the bang of Karthik’s bat, the Indian bowlers bowled brilliantly. Avesh Khan took the maximum four wickets. South Africa were bowled out for 87 in just 16.5 overs. And India won the match by 82 runs to level the five-match series 2-2.
