Despite the havoc caused by the Indian spinners, Ben McDermatt continued to score runs from one end. Batting till the 15th over, he played a brilliant inning of 54 runs in 36 balls. But he was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh, after which Matthew Short took over the innings and gave Australia a chance to make a comeback in the match.
But after a lull of 2 overs, Mukesh Kumar came and dismissed Matthew Short and Ben Dwarschwiss in 2 balls. From here, the balance of the match seemed completely in favor of India but in the very next over, Avesh Khan hit 3 fours and Australia needed 17 runs in the last 2 overs. After this only 10 runs were left in the last over. Arshdeep Singh left no stone unturned to save it and India won by 6 runs.
