Sri Lankan cricketer arrested on fixing charges:
38-year-old former Sri Lankan cricketer Sachitra Senanayake was arrested by the Sri Lankan Police yesterday i.e. on 6th September. Sachitra Senanayake has been arrested on charges of fixing in the Sri Lanka Premier League. Actually, the Sri Lankan Police had accused him of fixing in the Sri Lanka Premier League in the year 2020. Due to this, the Sri Lankan police arrested him within just 24 hours. The process of taking action against Senanayake has been going on since 2020. In August the court stopped him from going out.
Have faced a ban in cricket:
Sri Lankan cricketer Sachitra Senanayake was even banned from playing cricket due to his bowling action. After this, he returned to cricket by changing his actions. With his all-round game, he helped Sri Lanka win the title in the 2014 T-20 World Cup. He was also a part of IPL in the year 2013. He performed well while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders.

38-year-old former Sri Lankan cricketer Sachitra Senanayake made his debut for Sri Lanka in the year 2012. He has played a total of 49 ODI matches for Sri Lanka. In which he has taken 53 wickets in his name. During this period, he has also played 24 T-20 matches in which he has taken 25 wickets. At the same time, he has played only one Test match in his career. In which he has no wickets. He played his last match in the year 2016.
