Mohammad Siraj becomes the rank 1 bowler in the ODI format

Mohammad Siraj has scripted history today as he climbed to the top of the ICC ODI ranking. He is now the ranked 1 bowler in the ODI Format and he achieved this glory today. It was Bumrah who was crowned as the number 1 bowler in the ODI format in 2021.

He is having 729 points and he gained this top spot by beating Australia’s Josh Hazelwood and New Zealand’s Trent Boult. Both of them have been moved to rank 2 and 3 respectively. Josh Hazelwood is having 727 points while Trent Boult is having 708 points.

He performed well in the recent series:

He has taken up the charge in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and has been performing well in the last couple of series. We have seen the rhythm in him and he is bowling with a lot of control and with very tight lines and lengths, the batters are finding it very much difficult to face him.

He was in beast mode in the ODI series as he scalped 9 wickets in the 3-match  ODI series against Srilanka and had a great outing in that series. He was in very good form in the ODI series against New Zealand as he took 4 wickets in the first match while also taking 1 wicket in the second match. He has gained this top rank due to his performance in these series.

He is a very crucial player for the team as he is doing good for the team and he is a very important player for the team for the ODI World Cup 2023 which will be hosted by India. He will lock horns with the bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami and  Shardul Thakur.
