Indian team’s star batsman KL Rahul played an inning of 73 runs in the first ODI against Bangladesh. Apart from these, no other batsman could play a big innings. KL Rahul gave this answer on the new role
ODI World Cup is to be played in India this year. Before this, Rohit Sharma and Co. would like to complete their playing-11 search through the ODI series. In such a situation, it will have to be seen in the team that what will be the role of KL Rahul in the ODI format. In the first match played against Bangladesh, Rahul was seen doing wicketkeeping in place of Rishabh Pant. Whereas after this match, Rahul explained his role and said,
“We have not played many ODIs in the last eight-nine months, but if you look at 2020-21, I have kept wickets and I have batted at number four and five. The team has asked me to play this role. I am ready for this role in white ball cricket.
Pant’s injury was seen avoiding answering
Team India’s young wicket-keeper batsman was selected in the team on Bangladesh tour. But even before the start of the first, he was ruled out of the ODI series due to injury. In a similar way, Avesh Khan was dropped from the ODI team due to fever, after which he has not returned till date. On the other hand, when Rahul was asked about Pant’s injury, he said,
“To be honest about Pant, I came to know only today that he is going to be released. Questions related to its cause can be better answered by our medical team.
