Sri Lankan batsman Danushka Gunathilaka hit Rashid Khan for a boundary with a brilliant reverse sweep when the match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan was in a critical condition today. It was the first ball of the 17th over of the match. Rashid Khan went towards the batsman on seeing his ball hitting a four and said something.

Hearing this, Danushka also did not remain calm and aggressively moved towards Rashid Khan and started speaking something. Seeing this, the umpires and Bhanuka Rajapaksa started releasing them. After this, on the fourth ball of the same over, Rashid Khan took his revenge by cleaning Danushka.

Rashid Khan may have blown his bails, but Sri Lanka’s team won the first match of Super 4. Sri Lanka won this match by 4 wickets. Rahmanullah’s brilliant innings did not work for Afghanistan. The Sri Lankan batsmen, who came out chasing the target of 176 runs, also performed brilliantly. The match started going into a thrilling position after a stellar start from Kushal Mendis and Nishanka. But Gunathilaka’s 20-ball 33, Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s 14-ball 31 and Hasranga’s unbeaten 16 came Sri Lanka’s victory.
