On the other hand, both Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal didn’t find a place in the team chosen by the former Australian star.

World Cup 2023

Hayden chose Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Suryakumar Yadav as specialist batsmen and Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson were wicketkeepers. In bowling, Jadeja and Akshar are the spin options while Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Jasprit Bumrah will handle the pace attack. Hardik Pandya has been chosen as an all-rounder who’s able to throw his focused share of overs if the team needs it.

Before, Hayden had spoken about Chahal not being included in the 2023 Asia Cup selection. There have been some big mistakes. Chahal in particular, is a brilliant leg-spinner and it will be tough for the selectors as they have another player in Kuldeep Yadav. thus, they’ve chosen this as an option.

15-member Indian team chosen by Matthew Hayden for ICC World Cup 2023:

Rohit Sharma( Captain), Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Ishaan Kishan and Akshar Patel.
